It is not unusual for spider veins to make an unwanted appearance on the face. They are a common occurrence for women as well as men. Spider veins appear in a star shaped pattern with numerous lines radiating out from the center (resembling a spider). They are small blood vessels that have become dilated and can be seen beneath the surface of the skin. Often appearing around the nose, they can also be on the checks and neck area. There are a number of factors that can contribute to spider veins on the face and neck. Over-exposure to the sun, the natural aging process, genetics, and hormone therapy are some of the most common.
Salem Vein & Aesthetics Center’s experienced, licensed staff can successfully treat most cases of unwanted prominent veins on the face, hands, and breasts. Laser is sometimes used in combination with sclerotherapy to treat the very fine red facial veins.
